Just a random question...
I just bought a 93 civic si, and now im starting to have problems. My car wont start and i just got a new battery for it 2 months ago, and i dont understand what might be causing it to drain when the car doesnt have anything on. I just want to know what others might think is wrong with it before i take it to a mechanic. Thanks for your help...

well what does it do when trying to start... clicking sound? does it crank but the engine never fires up? nothing?
Re: Just a random question...
It just clicks when i try and start it. This is the second time its done this. But i have a brand new battery in it. But im thinking it might be my alternator.

Re: Just a random question...
well alternator has nothing to do with starting a car. its either the battery, starter, loose battery or starter connections, bad ground wires, or a problem with the motor or one of the sensors.
Re: Just a random question...
The alternator powers the car once it starts and keeps the battery charged, if it is bad, the car is running off the battery and will quickly drain it, then it won't have enough juice left to crank the car over.
Re: Just a random question...
Fast click is related to battery drainage, slow is usually the starter. Parasidic draw is usually the culprit of a dead battery in the morning. Look for anything left on... Your trunk light, glove box light, radio, etc. Otherwise, you're getting parasidic draw from another source. Hopefully its simple though.
