Re: is this an engine mount?

hmm does that bracket connect to the car body? look up engine mounts for your car on hondaautomotiveparts.com and see if thats where it is. our cars have something similar but its just to hold the alternator. you could always try and paint it on the car. just get some rust dissolver jelly, put that on the rust a few times til it disappears, then spray some black on it. mask off surrounding areas so paint doesnt go everywhere.

Where is that car from? Looks like an engine mount to me. Picture is bad quality. Why do you want to change it anyway? If you do decide to remove it you need to support the motor, you can do it from the oil pan just use a piece of wood between the jack and oil pan so you dont damage the oil pan.

Re: is this an engine mount?

Yes that it an engine mount, just unscrew it the should be 3 bolts holding it on also you may need to undo the power steering pump i think its bolted on there.

As for cleaning, remove the rust with a wore brush and then sand it down to remove the remainder of the rust, doubt it will be rusted through so just leave it to soak in a rust killer over night. Then prime it with an anti-rust primer then paint it and your good to go
