Were Stumped!
I have a 95 Honda Civic DX with an automatic Transmission. The problem with the car is the 4th injector sometimes doesn’t fire. We have tried many things to try and fix the problem but cant figure it out. There is spark, but no codes flashing. We now think the problem might be the wires going into the ECU. Any suggestions or other things to try?
Re: Were Stumped!
Does the car have have spark at the 4th cylinder? Because you said that the 4th injector will not fire, and mentioned that you are getting a spark. Did you remove the injector and run the car and see if you are getting fuel out then you are getting fuel delivery. If you do not get delivery then get a jump box and feel power to the injector directly to see if the injector itself is bad. If you are then getting fuel with the jump box then you know the injector is good. If good then, get a test light and ground the clamp end and place the pointed probe to the signal wire of the injector and with the car running the test light should blink. If blinking then the injector is getting a signal and therefore the wiring is good. If the wire is bad then, then next thing to do is to check if the wire leading to the ecu is good. Disconnect the 4th injector wire and perform a contenuity test to both wires using a multi-meter. Place the negative end to ground and the positive end to the on terminal at a time. If the multi-meter reads OL there is and open in the wire but is you are getting numbers displayed then your wiring is good and therefore you ecu is bad. Sorry for the long response, I hope I was helpful.
