Hey all im new to the forums. i am making my own Honda civic and i was wondering what engine would be the best for it. ? any one have any ideas ?

Depends on the chassis you are using. Certain blocks don't fit certain chassis.

Yeah true. Well i was thinking some one the lines of this kinda year model body but i cant see what the year is so ill link it. and 2 door./

Ok that helps, I've seen some really good B series builds in that chassis. B16, B18,B20. You can also fit an H22 but you'll need stronger axles as the stockers will break if you drag the car. The future however is K series and now a days everyone and their mother have a K swap, especially out here in NJ.

thats an eg chassis btw. Didnt the SI version come with a B series... hmmm, I cant remember. The b16 is 1.6 liters, the b18 is 1.8 liters, and the b20 is....... (any guesses?)

How far do u want to go with this build? I find ppl say build, but mean mod... and when they do mean build, they mean swap.... do you really want to rip the guts out of this car and pull every horse out of it possible? ...or do u have a $2k road block in the way?

Yeah at the moment its goign to be a project car and atm i wanna find quotes and what would be the best for my car, so yeah at the moment money isnt the prob but i wanna get started asap lol and i would prefer a 1.8 / 2 letre

Rushing into a build isnt the way to go. You need to have the funds to be able to buy the car, the engine, and get it in the car. From there you can drive and upgrade whatever once you get the money. But buying the car, ripping the engine out, and having it on blocks for a year until you realize you'll never finish it because XYZ obligation came along isnt the way to do it. You'll end up selling your car and no1 will want to buy a shell with a disassembled engine.

best thing to do, but not always the cheapest is to find a donor car, thats what i did for my b18 swap in the works, integra totaled with th b18 5 spd, i'll have everything ill need
