Okay I know and have driven i-vtec DOHC and regular SOHC (LX) but never really heard of i-vtec Sohc nor vtec Sohc.

What is the difference between the two, and wud someone happen to have pix of this engine?

I searched google but didn't really got a clear answer.

There is no "i"-vtec that is sohc. There is a vtec sohc. Civic ex has vtec. Civic Si has i-vtec. Civic lx, dx has non-vtec.

Hmm R u sure? Because I think i-vtec sohc does seem to exist from what I've read so far.

Well you find a car that has an i-vtec sohc and then I will change my mind. Im pretty sure there is not.

I can't think of a car that has it, but...

to answer your question,
-non vtec is and engine that has fixed valve openings.
-vtec is an engine that uses oil pressure to engage secondary rocker arms to a more agressive cam lobe and thus changes the valve openong.
-i-vtec works much like the vtec system, but also uses the computer to adjust the ignition timing as well as the valves for improved performance.

dohc can work the same, or the vtec may turn the intake cam to adjust the valve timing...depends on year and model.
