What is this wire?

Hi, thanks to everyone who helped, I was able to open my glove box and retrieve my important documents. However, while doing so, I guess I uplugged something because now there is a wire dangling. Can someone tell me where it goes and what it is possibly for? I tested the heat (air) and lights and they both work. HELP!

Re: What is this wire?

It looks like a cd changer plug for a 6 disk trunk or glove mounted unit. Thats seems to be the end that would plug into the back of a headunit.

Re: What is this wire?

I don't have a 6 disc cd changer. I just have a single disc changer in dash. Do you think the wire comes standard on the car in case a person buys a 6 disc cd changer? I thought it might be to the fan or something. Hopefully not. Any other ideas would be helpful. THANKS ALL!

Re: What is this wire?

it's not a factory wire and looking at the conector i'd bet it's for a aftermarket head unit and the changer in the trunk.

Re: What is this wire?

do you think maybe it was unplugged already, and someone before you had it plugged to a cd changer in the glovebox? then when it was sold, they just left the connector? it doesnt seem like a big deal. maybe the wire was stuffed behind the glovebox and by opening it from the bottom, you made it fall out.

So that means I don't need or it's not important? I don't have an Alpine anything in my car right now.

Re: What is this wire?

Guys, it's not necessarily Alpine, it's just a regular phono (antenna) adapter for any aftermarket headunit or changer setup. In order to answer your question, I need to ask another. If you have an aftermarket CD player of some sort, just plug it back in. If not, then find out where the other end of the wire is, take it out and see if you can sell it. You don't want it falling down into something it shouldn't be around.

Re: What is this wire?

that picture looks nothing like the one previously posted, i beleive rufus is right on the alpine cable.

if not its SOMETHING aftermarket
factory cables:
1) Aren't sheilded that well
2) around sheilded together like that
3) the connector is definitely not honda.

I don't see how you can pin that on Alpine though, they're just regular female RCA connectors.
