better flowing exhaust. dont worry so much about intake. a tune up? thats really it unless you want to spend alot more money.

well right now i just put a new intake in and it just won't seem to accelerate worth a ****.
I can't afford another car right now cause well I'm in highschool and I can't get a job right now cause this gay age thing they have where i live.
but I've got the money for some new parts i'm just not sure what would help acceleration.
I want this car to be like my learnin car
you know like one to just get a little more experience workin on them.
I do wanna stick to civics though nd start workin on them.

short shifter might help a little bit, it'll shorten the distance between gears for shifting, basically you don't have to move your hand as far to shift, doesn't make the car accelerate any faster but makes it a lil quicker I'd say, if you really wanted to go all out there is a guy on this forum Speedfoos, he has a nice turbo setup you could gank, watch out though, he is kinda sketchy...did I mention he is a pretty big guy too?

do you owe any money on the car? if not sell it outright and buy a 6th gen civic. much more potential than this car. i mean dont get me wrong. the 7th gen civic is a nice car. but for learning purposes..its very complicated. the 6th gen is pretty straight forward. distributor ignition, pretty common setup all around. the D17 is a horror story. it has coilpacks. the first of thier kind for the civic. a completely different ECU setup. with past OBD2 setups you could just convert to OBD1 and call it a day....not so with the D17. the multiplex system prevents us from doing this. its better to start on something less complicated to work on and then maybe graduate into the 7th gen. but by that time youll learn to hate the 7th gen. i only like mine cause its low maintenece and its turbo. before it was turbo it was nice but i hated the power. also hated the short trans it had. 80MPH at 4k....just sux ***. i want a longer one. i mean i cant go above 130mph. so when i have the power to pull off a 12 second pass at 130 mph...i could prolly do it quicker if i didnt have to go through all 5 gears to get there.

what the point of having a car if you cant take anyone anywhere. i know when i was in highschool everyone needed a ride somewhere. all my friends loved a car but couldnt afford one.. so they rode with me. why have a car that is capable of hauling people and remove all the seats??? makes no sence.

yea i can't take out the back seat.
its a two door but i need the seats.
and i can't sell it cause i'm still payin it off but i have all of the money for that comin cause of grades
all i gotta do is keep it an a average in all my classes which is hard as hell
nd my grandparents are payin the payments so i don't have to pay for anything but the parts nd i run errands for this dude for cash but thats maybe a 10 minute drive every two weeks for like 3 weeks worth of gas.
so i just need help thinkin of parts to add to it.
its just a 4 cylinder so is there anything i can do to help it?

like theres a little drag strip by my house nd i cant seem to get it acceleratin good.
