so last night a buddy of mine and i put together a warm air filter for my 03 EX. ive been told that a cold air filter is better and i also know about the debate. im not looking for a racing car, just a fast speedy everyday kind of car, something that will most likely get me another speeding ticket haha. anways everything worked out great, sounds great, im excited about it but this morning when i got up there was a whistle when i would accelerate. its not loud but i can hear it and im wondering if thats good...bad? doesnt matter? let me know what you think please!

prolly a leak, like the only time my SRI whistles is when i cut the car on and off, and thats the sound of the air being initially sucked in or out of the tube

when u say warm air, im taking it u are talking about a Short Ram intake, where the filter is in your engine bay and not tucked into your bumper or what not.

but is it something serious? this whistle? bc its when i press the gas...not while im shifting and i havent noticed it while im in 4th or 5th gear....

you might just want to recheck everything to make sure you installed everything right, and if everything checks out okay, then you have no problem. the whistle noise is probably just the air flowing through the intake.

thats funny u said warm air filter, never herd that one before. cool on ur first mod, yea recheck everything and make sure everything is tightend and secure.

Does it only happen at partial throttle? If so then it's fine, it's just the sound of the air moving through the tubes.

Open the hood ... listen for the sound... try and locate it...put your hand around parts of the breather or where ever the sound is coming from. Thats the first thing I would do .. try and locate the source. Im sure its something small and probably just needs to be adjusted.

I have a FIPK, and that thing whistles all the time...you'd think I had a ProCharger under the hood or something.

The whistle's probably nothing, but checking all your work can't hurt.

its just air moving through. i got the ram air k&n and it does that when i crack the throttle open and at certain rpms

I removed that huge air intake box n rang a pipe to that area where it was open id look to move it around lower to the ground or what not but i think it will do becasue in the winter time i dont think its going to get warm enough or what ever.

Well to check for leaks and stuff ... check your C-H gauge.. if its more towrads hot u may not be getting enough air in. If your check engine light is on that is another sign.

If anything you maybe leaking from where your short ram filter is and also where it connects to the engine. Make shore ur connections are tight and sealed. Only when i throttle fast n hard n let go n u hear the air being suckd in and when i turn the car off is the actual whistle noise is made.

Should give it a re check dont worry about it to much jus make shore its secure.

I have a 04 EX. Modding these cars can get very fun.

its normal, usually very loud hissing until the car warms up cause it pulls in alot of air to warm up the cat. i dont hear it once car warms up unless when it shifts gears sometimes if you listen closely.
