Unhappy Rev problems

For some reason my Civic 95 EX V-tec car it wont rev past 6k which forces me to shift. I am trying to figure out why this is. My engine supposedly has about 110k miles and i used to have a 93 si and it went happily to 7250.
car details:
1. it dose the same in neutral
2. it runs the same miles per gear come pared to other same models
3. exept for 3rd i get an ave. of 95-98 mph at 6k rpms
4. i bout the car like that
5. ive notice it has a replacement ignition (adapted)
6. its a stock car heder only
7. Timing is ok
8. speed and acceleration ok
9. no smoke

thanks for the helps

hey not sure if this help but when it hitts 6k rpms does it sound like its be controlled by a rev limiter. My 96 dx hatch hits what i think is a rev limiter at around 6800 at wont go any further. Its a non vtec sohc 1.6L stick shift. not sure if it helps but i figured i mention it.
