I do not like any car Mitsbubishi has ever made so I can not possibly pick any of them in any kind of vote. Unless they are up against a daihaitsu

Daihatsu's are actually good cars. Perhaps your meant Hyundai?

The only decent car Mitsubishi has ever made is the Lancer EVO but thats hardly made by mitsubishi anyway, RalliArt make most of it.

M make crappy engines, full stop. No reliability whatsoever and I'd stay well away from any M car that isnt an EVO.
Even the 3000GT is weak compared to other sports cars, even though it looks hot.

Plus, the civic and eclipse aren't really in the same class anyway to compare.

Take your pick... You can't really have that much difference between tags.

front wheel drive turbo, non turbo, awd turbo, 4g63 motor or 420a(neon motor). Any 420a motor in a dsm is very slow. The 4g63 is the same motor as a evo VIII so how can you like them but not a older dsm??Same motor. As far as speed the only hondas that can beat a stock awd turbo is the s2000, typeR and Maybe a gsr integra with a damn good driver. Reliability they are about the same at stock, once you mod a dsm they can become very unreliable unless built right, but when you think about it they put down really good numbers and any built car has a really high risk of breaking. Its just that there is more built dsm's that break than honda's. Most of the hondas you see driving around have nothing more than i/h/e. But if you see a really built honda and ask them they will probably tell you that they are not very reliable either if they are honest.

Actually the naturally aspirated eclipse only has like 130 base horespower and the turbo has like 210. It's still a fast car though, my ex girl had a 95 talon ( which is basically the same as the Eclipse) and I got that thing up to like 130mph on the highway,no joke.

I vote for honda just because i have one. The eclipse, laser, and talon turbo cars are all pretty cool cars though.

90 or 91 talon awd turbo. Its only runnin It is tuned at 18 psi so he doesnt want to go any higher than that otherwise something is bound to break and it will not be as efficient because his turbo is a big 16G and im pretty sure that they lose efficiency after 18 psi. Otherwise it just got forged internals, intercooler, 3in exhaust and dp, upgraded bov and wastegate, port and polished, 3 angle valve job head. This summer we are gonna put some HKS 264's or 272's in it.

Does your friend ride around with a crash helmet when driving that. Sounds scary dangerous.

What kinds of brakes does it have?

That thing sounds like a beast. I actually have another question, I went to a shop today and asked about makin a custom exhaust, while I was there I asked if they do custom headers but the guy said no, then another guy that worked there said that I couldn't put a header on my car because the cat is right after the header. I just wanna know if you ran into this problem when you got yours done or if they relocated your cat or something, cause i'm just thinking of doing it anyway and just removing the cat. What do you think?

A big turbo can take more than 18psi
Sounds very worked, Im jealous....

HKS turbo's are awesome. My friends MR2 has a HKS something or other turbo, it's scarily fast even on stock internals.

No there is no problem, the shop is probably watching their asses because they cant remove any catalytic converters (pre-cat or main cat). You would be better off going on ebay and buying an obx or something, cheap but you will see nice gains all around from it. Tayler's car is straight piped all the way back.....****ing louder then all hell. So is the talon though (hes talking about mine).

Ok, you honestly don't know your DSM's very well. Let me get this straight, you're saying that mitsubish's 4g63 engine is crappy? Ok, how come many car magazines(i know, magazines don't mean **** but they prove a point) ranked the 4g63, up second only to the ecotec, with the sr20det coming in a close 3rd? The 4g63 has had some problems, i'll admit that, the 2g 7bolt motors crankwalk horribly, but theres always the 6bolt. In general 6bolt engines are good for around 400whp, all stock. As a matter of fact, a guy that lives here in minot, has a 1gb(92-94) awd talon. All stock internals, stock head, stock headgasket, he is running a holset hx35 turbo, fmic, gm maft blow through setup, exhaust, and the usualy fuel mods. On 20psi he rips brand new vettes, modded evo's, sti's, all of em otta the water. All in all he spent around 5k, including the price of the original all stock car. His motor is doing fine btw with normal compression, good valve seals, his clutch is starting to slip though. So next time you decide to bash an engine, please research alittle bit more.

Yea im still not sure, i was just guessing like i said, you would have to ask brett what it can do. Im not even sure about the turbo actually anymore i was pretty sure it was a 16g but now when i think about it, it might have something different, idk.

Because the rest of the car is rubbish

Show me an example of someone who says the Eclipse/3000GT is a good solid car, then I'll believe you

No car is solid when it is built...... If you keep a dsm stock and treat them right they will last forever, its just that idiots get ahold of them and build them up the wrong way and break them, that is why they have such a bad name.

Exactly. modify any car and you are gambling with its stability.
People think they can build a car up and it will still last forever.. but it doesnt work that way

I rented a last 2002 eclipse for a week when it was new. I thought the car was uncomfortble, had very poor interior layout, and mechanics were average. Body style and decent speed was all it had going for it. At the time I owned an 01 Civic EX and it was hands down a better car all around. Not as fast, but better all around. Havent driven a new one, but I doubt it hold a candle to new Civic. Damn pretty body though.

BTW, Mitsu's finest car was 3000GT.

Even the 3000GT had its issues.
Mitsubishi's only decent car is the EVO, everyone knows that. The other big sports cars were made for the american market to try to get people into Jap cars, but they were not made well at all.

Actually you cant even call the Evo a good car anymore, well its a good car but they are now having some issues with them crankwalking already, making subaru sti's and wrx's the way to go now for quite a bit cheaper.

For reliability you may be right. Personally, the 3000 was the best looking car they ever built IMO. Two very different cars. The EVO isnt a true sports car.

What a silly question. Of course the Civic is better. It is definitely more comfortable than the Eclipse. I think it handles better too. And my Civic has been very reliable, whereas my friend's Eclipse has broken down twice in the last year.
