New Member.... New Si

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just joined the forum today, but became a Civic owner mid October (b-day present to myself). Pics from the day I got it can be seen here...
http://www.lilalien.com/newcar/

I haven't done any modifications on it yet (well, just put clears in the headlights and white washer leds on the hood). The downpayment is gonna be paid off this month (went all out n used like 4 sources of credit) so by the summer the car should be well n ready for it.

Its my first car like this, always bought mid-class sedans, so I'm sure I'll be looking to you all for lots of help in the future.

oh I've always liked em. They don't cost anything nor effect anything, so why not. I need to get better quality ones though, just picked up a cheap pair to see how they look, only its currently 4º outside so I think I'll wait a while for changing em

Forgot that was still up there. Yeah, that was when I FIRST got the car n saw someone the sameday. Didn't take me long to figure out how inaccurate that was.

All led washers are cheap. Those are for ricers, get rid of them.

Alright, I hate to say things with so much negetivity, and start any kind of arguement or fight between anyone within a community like this. I noticed that 2 of the 3 comments I've recieved used the term 'ricer' in them, one much more direct then the other, but still used.

First, being that I AM japanese, I take offense to that statement anytime its use, whether its directed towards me or not. That's not so much important here though.

Second, the general usage for 'ricer' is ANYONE that puts that extra bit of pride into their 'japanese imports' (like a civic), n ofcoursed used by people that hate imports. For that reason, I would think that there would be a generally unspoken ban on using the term anywhere within a "Civic Minded" community.

Third, in regards to the one person that used the term in a more offensive manner (not towards me but just in general).....
A more specific variation (one of many, I know) for the term 'ricer', is any kid that lives at home with their parents and puts all the money that they get from them, or from not having to pay rent, into hooking up their japanese import car in every way they can.

As much as its going to, this isn't meant to be offensive or arguementative. I highly appreciate all the things I've already learned from looking through this forum, and even the help I got from 'civictec1ps' about where to get the dash kit, and hope to get alot more of it.
