Strut Spring Perch Problem: HELP

Strut Spring Perch Problem: HELP ok i tried searching out couldn't find the right thread....i believe this also happened with another member....
but i need help....the bottom perch that holds the spring suddenly "gave in"
heres a pic (this from the DIY).... the red circle shows the right place the perch should be, the blue circle shows where MY perch is now, i check it out and raised the car, the perch and spring moves easily up and down....
dunno what to do, I either have the perch welded back where it suppose to be or replace the shock....
