Top off 2002 honda civic (currently conventional 5W-20), using full Synthetic 5W-30?
Hi,
My 2002 honda civic (use conventional oil 5W-20) has slow oil leak, and the level is slightly lower than the lower level in the dipstick. I have two bottle of full Synthetic 5W-30 (Castrol GTX MAGNATEC, and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.
Can I use these to top off the engine oil, or I should use 5W-20 Conventional like this:

Thank you!

You’ll probably be fine. General rule of thumb is to stick to the manufacturers suggested weight, but it won’t really harm anything. Will likely help with oil consumption too if that’s something the car experiences.
