Horrible gas mileage
I have a 96 civic with 143000 and its an auto. Im not a newbie so yes I have been doing the normal things like tire pressure, oil change,I drive fine,ect.....
I only get 300 miles in my 11.9 gallon tank so thats only 25mpg! I just did the wires and plugs, and I seafoamed the car. Isnt 25mpg pretty bad for a 1.6 non vtech? the 300 miles were 50/50 city highway. I begining to think maybe my cat is clogged or something. What do you think?

25mpg is pretty normal for winter. have you done cap and rotor? make sure everything is running well. change PCV valve too and clean the intake system. may want to try lubecontrol.com gas and oil additives. my car was pretty new at the time and i got 4mpg better mileage after a month of using.

Do you think hollowing out my cat would help if its blocked. I think it would. Im not worried about emssions so thats not an issue. I thought about reaplacing the whole exhaust system myself. I bet that would make a big difference. I already had to reconnect the pipe right after the first hanger under the engine. The damn thing just snaped right off lol
