Oil Changes & Leasing

I am leasing an 09 Civic LX. My warranty says I should check the oil every time I put gas. Is this really necessary? Since I am leasing, I do want to follow the maintenance schedule, but how necessary is that?

Thanks!

Re: Oil Changes & Leasing

Sounds like overkill to me but it is good practice to check your oil on a regular basis.

Re: Oil Changes & Leasing

once a month is usually fine if its not leaking or burning oil. esp on a new car, it should never lose oil. usually 6 months later, my oil is still at the full mark. and thats on a 2002.
