inside the fuel tank, very difficult to change, should not need service for at least 100k miles or if the fuel pressure drops below normal standards.

just bought it for a good price with 104k but it needs a little love, shudders a little around 3000rpm and starts a little hard when its cold.

i was thinking fuel pump or fuel filter, but im definitely a newb. any input?

^^ i would say maybe take it to a mechanic for a total tune up/ look over. Then you will know what it needs. You have 104k and it will last and long time so giving it a lil care now will pay off in the end.
