I was using fram for a couple years until I learned on variuos websites how cheaply they are made. I think they are good for the average guy who changes his filter and oil often. IMO opinion you dont need more pleats or better construction for a 115 hp commuter car. One can argue that more pleats restricts flow more so theres no pleasing anyone . If you plan on redlining your vehicle and driving like an a**hole then yeah buy a better filter that can take higher pressure, and most likely filter a little better. I switched to nippon just because they werent much more, so why not. Nippon filters are twice as heavy as the fram, what does that mean ? I dont care It makes me feel better..lol. anyway buy what you want it makes little difference.

Re: FRAM or Honda oil filter?

Anyone use Quaker State oil filters? They look better than the FRAMs. Bypass valve is metal not plastic. Says on the box - Certified to meet or exceed OEM requirements.

Re: FRAM or Honda oil filter?

i used to use amsoil...great filters...now i use mobil 1 high performance oil filters

basically the mobil one, hamp, amsoil, and the other high end filters are like K&N of oil filters...instead of a paper cartridge filter inside its a cotton synthetic fiber filter...it does offer longer life and does provide better flow with cleaner oil but costs more...plus the higher end filters have better bypass valves, and retainers like it was shown in the pictures on pg 1
