You can use the FP60 at anytime. Yeah, the premium fuel doesn't do anything other than waste money

fp60 doesn't matter. even the lc20 says it can be used after 1k miles but i would still wait 15-20k cause thats when the motor is fully broken in.

So by doing a little bit of quick math; my light came on at around 410 miles which equates to 41mpg!!! correct me if i'm wrong cause i'm lovin my car right now
who cares if yur car is 2 seconds faster in the 0-60 than mine; i get 41mpg!! i'm wondering if anyone else gets high mpgs like this too?
thanks for all the info guys, and yea i was wondering, do you use the FP60 too?? or does your car just get crazy gas mileage? cuz i have the same car as you, as in the same model and year and stuff, but the mileage is drastically different. i dont have a lead foot either, i've been driving pretty conservatively and yet the best i've gotten is 31 mpg.

is that all highway miles? you really can't count anything else. city driving varies way too much. usually in the city i've gotten anywhere from 15-26mpg. Highway is up in the 40s. You can get the best by driving 55mph all highway miles.

ya nobody drives 55. you'll get run off the road. In chicago the limit is 55 but even if you're going 65 90% of cars will be passing you like you're stopped. If you want to do quick tests, fill the tank to full and then drive on the freeway at least 50 miles. Come back and fill up again (make sure you goto the same station and maybe pump too). See how much gas you bought and then do the math like if you drove 50miles and got 1.5 gallons gas, its 50/1.5=33mpg

hm.. even using a different pump at the same gas station might make a difference? why's that? is it just one huuuge tank underneath the gas station supplying each pump?

The auto shut off mechanism is just a simple pressure meter and each pump as it's own. They are very simple and not very accurate and they will vary from pump to pump. You can get up to a gallon difference because of the inconsistance in this simplistic devices.

Or you can just take an average of 5 tanks. The Ford manual actually says to average 5 tanks of fuel together to calcualtes milage.

I'm at school right now so I drive about an hour and a half from columbia to STL at about 80-90 and then the short trips to walmart and things like that and my last tank i got 36.4mpg(lx manual). I love it right now, i was so happy when i saw that.
I'm curious to see what my mpg would be if i drove 55 all the way but im never gonna drive that slow on I-70

So far the max was 47MG, at speed between 35 mi/h (20%) and 65 mi/h (80%)
With City driving and highway misx 36-37MPG.
The last tank can come out as a new record, becouse I was Using 99% freeway up to now, drivind constantly at 65 mi/h (it is posible in Nevada).
I am almost sure that at 55mi/h can get even better milage, but no roads around to test. Maybe somebody in Nevada (the highways are so empty) can due it.

I wish I could just put a 10 on gas, I spend about $60-80 every 2 weeks on gas, that would be a 10 everyother day lol. But it's fun like you said.

Yes. This Civics can get a very good MPG.
I have 67000+ mi on my civic and get very good MPG.
Maybe somebody alredy mention this, but here is a good contest for how many miles you can get out of a tank (13.2 galo or 50l) of regular gas. Check out this link:

I did replace my OEM sparkplugs with iridium, which probably gain some + MPG, but I am not sure yet how much, becouse I did only 3 tank of gas after the spark plug change. As I gain more statistics I will post it.

yeah i definatley love the civics on my recent trip to NYC it is about 500 miles from house to house but i made it to jersey before i had to fill up again. i was doin 85 the whole way and i think if i remeber correctly i was in the 43-44mpg range. then i drove my dads pilot the next week for the same trip and he gets 22mpgs tops. that thing has the potential to get higher mpg if honda didnt use 1 7/8 exhaust piping on a 3 liter v6.

right now gas is at $2.03 a gallon. But about $0.75 of that is taxes, which I get back once tax time comes, so once I get my taxes back, that gas will cost me $1.28 a gallon.
