Why did honda give me blue coolant? Its Honda Fluid Type 2 50/50 with extra performance additive or some crap. Is that why its blue. Anybody else using this? Any probs with using it? I filled the coolant passage in my block up with it. Im not mixing it with other coolant. Everything is empty right now, other than the block.

thats just the color of there coolant I think. I wondered the same thing when I purchased it almost a half a year ago.

its just a way for them to identify there stuff...

the same thing goes for gas..
regualr pump gas is clear.. of course you guys know that
100octane is blue in color
and diesel is green in color...

basically its just for identifying purposes

honda changed it to blue. It used to be green. I talked to the reps when I bought some coolant at the dealer and they told me its new style, im using the blue coolant and no trouble.

yeah, ti just way to ID the Honda fluid from the rest. That way the people at Jiffy lube know that the civic need a fluid they don't carry, then you have to go to Honda to get it.

By the way, my diesel is red and only cost about 2.30 a gallon

GM's use a special fluid called Dexcool its pink in color just a little info.

They switched the color to blue, when I bought mine, the guys was like, don't be alarmed cause it's blue not green now.
