Wheres The Oil Filter?

I was going to change my friends oil & oil filter last week but I couldnt find the oil filter. The car is low so I cant drive it up the ramp.
Just wondering where the hell the oil filter is on the 2001 Civic EX & can the filter be changed without lifting the car?
Thanks in advance for the answer to my stupid question.

the oil filter is on the back side of the engine near the firewall, and you have to jack the car up somehow to get to it. my suggestion drive onto 2x4's and them jack it up from there.

You can change the filter from the top, but it ain't easy! A combo of top and behind the left wheel will work!!!!
(but it would be easier to dig a hole and drive over it )

if the car is dropped, its nearly impossible to change the filter from the bottom without lifting the car. i never heard of doing it from the top neither.

also check out the owners manual as well
