axle shafts will not seat
axle shafts will not seat
02 civic, i pulled the engine and transmission and now that everything is put back together, the axle shafts are not fully in the transmission. is there some dumb little trick im not doing? i pulled the strut off, and the wheel hub just so it would straight as possible. botth sides, driver and passenger are about an inch out and will not sit flush against the tranny case... any help is always appreciated
Re: axle shafts will not seat
So the axles aren't snapping into place?
The C-clip could be deformed, some say to change them whenever you pull the axle; I've never had a problem.
You shouldn't have to push too hard but it does take some force to get the axle to seat. I never pulled the strut n all that, going at it straight might be working against you.
Here's a vid:
fast forward to 9:35s, that's how it should go.
