RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
I finally got around to taking some photos of the new swapped seats in my car. Its about the only modification I've done, and absolutely love it. The front seats bolted right in with a little wiggle needed to align the rails. The rear seats required some definite TLC.
The rear bench bolts right in. The back ended up needed the center mount to be drilled out, the frames unwrapped and swapped sides, foam cut, and rewrapping. Its a little rough around the edges, but plan to redo the zip ties holding them around. A center bracket keep the two together, and a steel rod end was welded on the end to fit in the stock mounting holes. A little black spray paint hides the silver framing just between the backs and bench.
Overall: Best $400 bucks ever spent. I love the car even more, and the fiance even approves!

Re: RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
I found them from a guy down in Springfield, Missouri. Being from St. Louis, Missouri I had to drive down with a truck to pick them up (so gas money and snacks not included) . He had them installed in his 2003, but he was looking to sell the car and was sitting on these seats for a while since no one wanted to bother to pick them up. Now I still ave the stock seats in my way in the basement.

Nice, I got mine for $400 too, in awesome shape. I decided to sell the rears though, as I don't like the gap between the bench and the backs, and that the backs won't latch without serious modifications. The fronts are awesome though - comfy, heated, supported...definitely worth $400 just for the fronts, even though I sold the rears for $75

No I could not have. The stock seats use a 60/40 division for the back. The RSX are 50/50 division. I will actually be cleaning up the backs this week. Thanks for the compliments!

Re: RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
All of the Canadian RSX-S have heated seats. I don't think it was an option in US models. You can buy aftermarket kits that work, but with my seats I just need to wire up some relays to some switches and run some power to them.
Re: RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
Hey everyone. Update on the seats. I just realized a couple weeks ago that the SRS light came on, and to be honest if it did come on during the installation, I didn't see the light until now.
I made it to a great shop that I trust fully to check out the light. It was a $90 diagnostic for the light and made it clear that the new seats got put in. It was a hell lot better than the Honda dealership who wanted $150 just to "check it out", and once they learned that the seats were not stock, they wanted absolutely no part in doing anything about it, even though I made it clear that they came from an Acura and absolutely no modifications were made to any electrical clips.
Anyway, he did the diagnostic and found that the passenger seat was not allowing him to reset the system. It ended up being the passenger module that detects if a passenger is there. I ended up switching out the stock seat module into the RSX seats and it all worked and no light is on!!!!
So simple update but I have airbags that work now! If you are having problems, it could be a possibility that this module isn't set for your Honda and might need to be reprogrammed or switched.

Re: RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
How many HPs did those seats get you? jk they look really good, congratulations! So you just switched out a sensor and it's happily ever after? Was it a tough mod?
Re: RSX Seats Installed! Front and Rear
The sensor was the only thing that needed to be switched out in order for the SRS to be good. Ive heard of people making the switch with no issues. The sensor is just a matter of unzipping the back of the seat, removing 2 screws, and unplugging. The hard, and near impossible part, is the reprogramming of the computer for the car to recognize the sensor. You need the correct thing for that, and the maintenance shop was the only place to have it. It was actual rare that they had it since mostly only dealers have them.
