Re: DIY: No More Trunk Rattle!

HOLY SMOKES about that trunk with the broken metal... definatley a weld job take it to school or find someone that can weld it ... use extra bridging too!! strengthen that thing up !!! hahahaha must have some good boom in the trunk to break it I have an 03 civic coupe and I just lowered the latch and that held back the rattles for my 2 12's... but I just upgraded to 15's and another amp, hollllly crap does the trunk rattle like crazy ... i've lowered the rubber blocks a bit and lowered the latch a bit more and nowhe I'm going to put BLUESKIN (from hardware store similiar to dynamat) all the way around the trunk where the seal will sit basically lowering the entire trunk

Re: DIY: No More Trunk Rattle!

hello,
Can someone confirm the rubber stoppers referred in this DIY is part no 10 (74828-SX0-000) from below link?

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ID&vinsrch=yes

what exactly is trunk latch lock?

my trunk makes annoying noise while turning left or right, and i think this DIY should fix the problem.

will I get those parts in autozone(i assume ordering OEM, shipping would cost more that the price of the parts)

I have the Same issue in my 02 accord so I adjusted the rubber stops and instead of adjusting the latch mechanism i adjusted the strike that the latch closes to and i have to close it pretty hard (not quite slam) to get it to latch but it stopped a LOT of rattle. Now it's just behind the H above the license plate. Im gonna try stuffing some memory foam in it and see what it helps
