New to Honda. Looking for tips.

Hello.
I'm very new to Honda and I've had my eyes set on the 2007 Civic Si Sedan and I'm looking to buy one within the next six months.
I have always heard great things about the car and I'd love to learn more from anyone who is willing to share.

Things such as: Are there any major issues with the model? Common problems/issues with the vehicle? Specific things to look for in one when buying it that may indicate problems?

Anything useful would help me and would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Have a prepurchase inspection performed by an observant technician that you can trust.
Hopefully someone very familiar with the cars.

Spending a hundred or so to make sure you don't waste 15k on a shiny turd can be money well spent.

Hopefully you will then know what to expect in the near future as far as things like brake jobs and other maintenance.
Maybe have bargaining power if it needs big work.

Make sure it wasn't owned and driven by a kid.

Nobody can tell how much life is left in a clutch until it is almost gone.

Thank you "ezone" for your reply.

I haven't ever heard of paying technician to do a prepurchase inspection before. That may be something I will look at investing in. I am afraid of buying one and it falling apart in six months. I'm taking my time searching and in no hurry to make a purchase.

I appreciate your response and you seem to be a very helpful person amongst these forums. I will definitely take your advice with me while I search. If there is anymore advice your willing to give, it will all be useful to me.

Thank you!
