you are mistaken in thinking you are gonna get flamed here for driving a Mustang. You will get flamed here for your typing at worst. Its cool that you drive a Mustang, not all of us here drive Civics. You might not want to come into a forum and assume things especially this one.
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
sorry about my typing, im just not all that good at it. but thanks for a good welcome, just curious about reception, lol, and was mostly curious on what u guys consider a "ricer"
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
It varies between the people here. A large number of members here like the stock look or very clean look. You won't find too many people with body kits, neons, altezzas tails, and chrome wheels around here. I have a 02 Civic with a T25 turbo, clean rims, clean drop, but thats basically it for the outside. Oh yeah, stickers for companies that aren't sponsoring you, big time rice for me.
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
couple of guys on here are pushin 300+ horsepower on SOHC engines...we keep it clean and in the engine bay around here. A lot of K20 swaps too, RSX engines if you weren't sure. Stick around you might learn something from us, send some of your buddies over too, we don't like problems, we just like cars.

K20?, is that a rapper? lol, j/k, some use guys in the mustang world do all sorts of engine swap things, for example, with a V6 94-04, u can literally turn it from a 3.8 to a 4.2, or us a F150 upper intake, or do who knows wat, gotta respect the V6
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
We do all the same stuff just has different names...its all the same, its just a different badge on the front. I love busting my knuckles working on my ride, it makes it worthwhile when I finally get it right, lol.
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
Honda and forced induction go together, NA isn't very popular so thats not an easy question. On most of the engines the gains aren't worth the expense, most engines. Can't really give you a number but you gotta remember we take econo cars, and give them more power. You have a sports car, thats what it was meant for. I'm going to bed though, gotta work a double tomorrow. Might wanna put your flame suit on I'm sure some will give it a go, nice talking to ya.
Re: I'm a new guy here with a
Oh look, a Rustang fanatic. Don't get too comfortable with your ride, its likely to drop dead around 180k. And yes, I have experience. Being an auto mechanic and a former owner of a mustang. And the V6? LoL, don't get me started. Here are MY reasons for disliking the Mustang:
-Too damn big and heavy
-Horrible gas mileage
-Cheaply built interiors (Ford hates good taste)
-Idle Air Control problems (cheap fix, but still...)
-T45 and TR3650 tranny issues
-Charging systems are crap
-Oh, and they're total rust magnets!
Ive run into some other larger problems, but that was due to mistreatment of the vehicle on the owners end.
All in all, a car is a car. They last for however long you want them to. It just seems Mustangs require a little more TLC and a fat wallet.

Chill out man. If your here to start ****, I'll give u the boot now. If you wanna be chill, then dont jump on members. What he said was perfectly fine and didnt attack you at all- so why did you?
Personally, I've had mustangs pull up next to me and we've ran. A stock v6 mustang and a manual civic with intake/exhuast is a pretty even match. You guys do have more horsepower to begin with, but we have the weight advantage in our corner which makes up for the lack of power. Being so light the civic is pretty nimble and you can throw it into turns and it will exit fairly accuratly. Plus civics can push up to 40mpg. I'm not saying the civic is better then your mustang because each car was built for a totaly differnt purpose- just recognize that each has its own benefits that make it ideal for one person over another.
If you want to know what we think are ricers, check this thread out.

Second. Triz is right. I did not make any side comments about you as a person. I was only listing the common flaws with Mustangs and the reasons for my distaste in them. I had a feeling you would take it personal. Judging by your ridiculous signature it looks as though you came into this forum looking for an argument. Sorry to disappoint, but you aren't going to get one.
Also, to comment on a previous remark:
ever notice the amount of classic american cars is higher than classic japanese cars
My guess: Imports such as Honda, Toyota, Acura, etc....seem to be getting better and better as the years go by. That is, problems with transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and emissions seem to be improving with these brand vehicles. Chevy, Ford, and Dodge on the other hand seem to be sliding back in the race for quality and reliability. Most owners of "classic" vehicles have done a complete restoration and dropped in a different, newer built motor, where owners of older import models have simply rebuilt or tuned the original motor.
Yes, the Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes are puttin out a little more power, but that ends up sacrificing reliability.
If its speed you're looking for, then by all means go for it. But if you ever want to join me in an endurance race, bring it on my friend. I will literally leave you in the dust (and possibly flames). Meet me at the track and I'll run ya with my 06 R6 :-)
Take it easy and drive safe.

hey its all good man, i know u civics can haul ***, and have bullet proof reliability, its just were im from, american cars arent usually looked to highly up one, and are made fun off, since a lot of people drive euro and import
quick question, do u separate asian car makers and european car makers by referring them to euro and import?
hey, and trust me, im not here to start a fight, Internet fights r stupid, just kinda seemed like you were a tad harsh, and im kinda use to getting that talk from the dicks around here who talk **** about American muscle
and sorry about the VATK(ya, i know i spelled it wrong, we kinda joke about it on mustang forums) but i felt i was attacked
and btw, doesn't vtec make the cam run faster, or open up the valves fast @ higher rpm?(i have learned a bit about civics here and there)
and my signature, kinda of a joke, since its a "mustang in the wrong territory" thing, and how posers make fun of american cars in some areas

Re: I'm a new guy here with a
^ actually the reliability of imports goes back several decades to two guys in operations management.
They came up with the idea on how to streamline the productions of automobiles, make them cheaper to produce, and more reliable. They brought their ideas to american auto mfg's and they blew them off because they were on top of the market with their muscle cars. The two guys went over to japan and sold their ideas to the auto makers over there. End result, we now see all the japanese auto makers with these cars that out last any domestic car hands down, and in the end they are more refined and cheaper to produce. So yeah, a domestic motor might put down 200hp out the factory floor but at the expense of 20mpg, where as japan has come through with these import motors that get 40mpg outta the same size motor.
Point being, the reliability of japanese autos has much to thank america for its production ideas and quality control programs.
If only the domestic guys woulda listened to the two guys then american cars really woulda been something amazing this day and age.

Re: I'm a new guy here with a
watched the vtec vid, cool stuff, reminds me of a split port 3.8, sorta, since the vtec looks the values lock to let in more air, and a spilt port v6(while not having this) has dual runners, a long runner thats open at lower rpms for increased tq, and short runners that open for increased power at higher rpms
i know, not the same thing, but stuck me odd that it locks at higher rpms to let in more air, and a split port open up a runner at higher rpms for more power
and i do think american cars are about to be amazing again. ill full on agree, the 70's, 80's and 90's were dark times, hell, us american guys didnt even like them, front wheel drive + a torquey V8 don't mix very well. but were finally coming back. seen the new Malibu, lately? it finally is competitive, and (in my opinion) better looking than the accord, or the melting Camry(to me it looks like its melting), and the interior is competitive. also, motor trend car of the year award? Cadillac CTS
yes, i read car magazines about stock cars
but american cars are finally on the ball, about time too!, not saying all of them are though(chrysler looks like its about to have serious trouble again , and ford is taking its time, and needs more appealing products)
o yeah sorry about my typing, i never learned how to type well, and i just got a new laptop, and it takes getting used to typing on the flat keys
