Hey Everyone...
Hello everyone, I am brand new to this website. I'm quite interested in the "Legal Questions and the Law" forum you have here.
For a little background information, I am a New Hampshire State Trooper. I have been with the NH St. Police for 7 1/2 years. I have seen some interesting things in my years... or at least I think so.
Seems that some people have quite a few questions on the law and how it varies from state to state. I can try to answer all questions the best I can... the easiest way to contact me would be through either PM or e-mail.
I will be around here seeing if you guys need any legal advice. Just beware that I can't tell you anything that would give you an "unfair" advantage against the police.
Thanks!

And the second question is, how come you pull people over for stupid ****? I pass by cops everyday with illegal tint, and they dont care, I pass by one state trooper and get pulled over and they treat it like I comitted murder. Telling me to slowly step out of the car, making me basically take a breathilizer test just for having dark tint. Actually not taking a breath test, but you get the picture. Please explain this to me?

Do you all not get payed enough or something? I just dont get it. Please explain it to me?

As for the second part, I'm not really sure. Each case is its own. Someone pulled over for speeding is treated as a speeder. A DWI is treated like a DWI. State troopers act different from each state. Here in New Hampshire, there's not a whole lot to deal with, so I'm in a good mood most of the day. I can only imagine what it's like it other states. Hope I was some help to you.

Now, I dont know how DPS troopers are there, but here, if you are pulled over for speeding, you arent treated as a speeder, you are treated like a hardened criminal. then they start going around your car looking for more things to bust you with. But oh well, I dont care what kind of cop it is, I always talk back to them. we arent allowed to break the law, so state troopers shouldnt either. I have seen state troopers here racing on the freeway late at night. Yet we get pulled over for going 10 over the speed limit.
