Hi guys, I dont know much about cars but I've been trying to learn about my car alot since i just bought it a couple months ago. Anyways, recently just changed both my highbeams and low beams to LED because i wanted some brighter bulbs. My passenger side headlights had always been dimmer than my driver side with my old bulbs but its still the same case with my new one. I just found out that my passenger headlight design is blocking the source of light from my LED bulb.
As you can see, my passenger is dimmer than my driver side. It is more noticeable IRL.
This is my driver side headlights, and if you notice, there is a a square cut out which gives the LED more exposure and reflection making it brighter.
This is my passenger side headlight, since it doesnt have the same cutout, it covers pretty much the whole LED light and causes the whole thing to be dim.
Anybody else has this problem? What can i do fix this? Or is did i position my LED the wrong way?
I dont know you, your probably a good kid, but only A-holes run LEDs in traditional lamps. Its dangerous for others.
you're blinding everyone on the road; think about old people who already have a hard time adjusting their eyes to regular bulbs.
I only have LEDs in my high beams for that reason. If I'm using high beams, I'm giving 2 ***** less about sending light everywhere because I'm either a) alone on a dark road or b) making damn sure I want someone else to see me flash my lights at them.
As for your other issue with the headlight assemblies physically being different I would guess one of them has been replaced at one point. One may be OEM while the other is a cheap aftermarket replacement.
