Smile AC button illumination lights

I have a 07 civic and was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the tiny neo wedge t4 bulbs that go behind the ac mode position buttons that illuminate at night with the dash lights. I'm not referring to the green or yellow light that comes on when you push the button.I believe you have to remove the center dash panel which houses the radio and ac control switches but wasn't sure if anyone had better info.Thanks Chip pop

Re: AC button illumination lights

Once you get the control head out of the dash, the bulbs are easy. They come out with a small flat screwdriver.

There's several bulbs, 2 different styles, you may want to replace the whole set while you have it apart.

#6 and 7 are the bulbs, locations are shown in lower left

EDIT: Remove each bulb then shine a flashlight through the hole to see what it lights up on the front.

Thanks. Do you know that in order to get to the ac control head the radio/ac control head bezel/ plactic facia has to be removed. I saw a you tube video on how to remove the radio which includes the ac control head but wanted to make sure that if i do this pulling out the radio and ac control head combo is required to get to the back side of the ac control head to replace the bulbs.

Re: AC button illumination lights

HVAC control panel comes out with the radio assembly;

Remove
Drivers knee area panel (bunch of clips)

dash panel trim that includes the dash vent and around the tach set (one screw, bunch of clips)

small cover under radio area, there are 2 screws pointing up into the radio

radio and HVAC panel then can be removed (bunch of clips)

Re: AC button illumination lights

Thanks again. I'll watch that you tube video on the radio removal to refresh my memory and that should do it.
