Hey guys, brand new to the forum and i just bought my 1st honda car. I have a 2008 cbr 600rr that is my baby! Anyways its a 2003 honda civic si. I want to get and HID kit for it but i have no clue what wattage to get, what bulb type, or where to even buy one that will fit my car. Also do most people get a HID lo/hi beam? or just low beam? Any info would really help! thanks guys

If you have some time you should look into doing a full projector retrofit with your headlights. You'll get so much more out of the extra light of the HIDs that way. There are some great DIYs on how to retrofit like this:

You'll probably want to stick with 35w bulbs, as I've heard 55w bulbs can start melting things if you're not careful. And if you do a retrofit it will depend which bulbs you use. I'm using H1 bulbs because I have H1 projectors, but I believe stock would be 9003/HB2/H4. Don't quote me on that though. I'm not sure and I'm even less sure about it for an Si.

Anyway, you could either get a cheap kit from somewhere like DDM Tuning (that's what I have) or you could go for something from theretrofitsource.com. That site carries super nice stuff and anything you'll need for a retrofit. Hope that helps. There are a ton of threads on HIDs as well so some searching might turn up some more useful info too.

EDIT/ One more thing. If you go for Morimoto projectors you can have high/low beams without running a bi-xenon setup. The projectors themselves have a solenoid activated high beam that drops the shroud and gives you a nice high beam
