Nokya Bulbs

What risk do I run changing my stock bulbs to these? All input is appreciated. http://www.nokyausa.com/aw/aw7217.html

Re: Nokya Bulbs

I wouldn't run those particular bulbs unless you upgrade you're wire harness. They draw more power than stock and could damage your wires. You should have used the 65w bulbs but in my experience they work great for like 6 months and blow out. The longest I've got a set of aftermarket bulbs like Nokya to last without one of them blowing out is a year.

Re: Nokya Bulbs

I read that stock harnesses were good till about 110-130, but then again it was on the internet so I am unsure. My main concern is the housing think they will get too hot?

Re: Nokya Bulbs

I haven't heard of anyones housing melting on a 7th gen but its up to you if you want to take that chance. Gearbox or (Electric something forgot his name) are the wiring gurus of this board.

Re: Nokya Bulbs

Thanks, yea I didnt think the housing would melt. Ill wait for a response from one of our wire masters, but by the looks of it I dont think I would want to use the stock harness, just unsure what is involved with wiring up a new one.

CDN-Retard is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Nokya Bulbs

I would go with Luminics...used them for Fogs and they've been good for a year or so. They are brighter than Nokya too. My Nokyas blew after 2 weeks.

your main concern should be your wiring first, then your housings. no way the stock wires can support 100w bulbs long term. maybe a few minutes. and yeah, like gearbox said, you'd likely melt your housings too. especially in the summer.
