Upgrading Head Light Bulbs, but not considering HID's

Hey Guys, just got a few questions:

Have any of you tried either the Sylvania Silverstar ULTRA? or the Sylvania Silverstar High Performance? or the Eurolite Xenon Super Plasma Headlights?

How long did they last for you? and Also do you have any pictures showing the output and how they look?

Thanks i'd really appreciate it.

the best and brightest bulb is gonna be the +30 and +50 like philips vision plus and sylvania xtravision. stay away from coated bulbs as they are dimmer. the best H4 right now is actually the philips XP (xtreme power) +80 bulb. all of the bulbs you suggested are garbage.

ok only problem though is that on the philips site they have no canadian store locations. How much did you pay for your bulbs? and Do you have any pics?

I think the Sylvania Xtravision (+30) go for about $25 at your local Walmart, Autozone, Pepboys. type of stores. They only lasted 6 months for me though but I always drive with my lights on. They were amazingly bright though and I almost never had to use my highbeams and when I did I saw the world lol.

best blue coated bulbs are the philips bluevision. i dont know which stores would have em in canada tho. the sylvania cool blue is much worse but easy to find. your bulb is 9006 for lo beam and 9005 for hi beam i believe.

Re: Upgrading Head Light Bulbs, but not considering HID's

I just thought I would chime in. I haven't found any bulbs that are worth a crap. Most are overpriced junk. You think you are getting something great by spending $50 bucks, but I don't remember ever being amazed at the improvement. I've wasted my money on everything from "Cool Blues" to PIAA. The PIAA were probably my favorite. They actually made things look cool. I'm not sure about making things look better, but it made them look cool.

But I can't be spending that kind of money on bulbs, because everything burns out premature on my car. 2001 Civic. They had a recall awhile back and replaced a switch saying it was causing the lights to burn out, but they still burn out just the same. For those wondering, no I don't touch the glass part of the bulb when I install them..

It's the Walfart cheapo GE brand, or the Autozone Phillips special for my car.

Re: Upgrading Head Light Bulbs, but not considering HID's

blue coated bulbs have a much lower life tho due to the coating causing heat buildup inside, so maybe thats why you went thru em so fast. did you know sylvania silverstar bulb has a 25 hr rated lifespan? lol. most oem H4 has 500 hrs, and long life/philips eco has 1000 hrs.

That makes the Silverstars about 1 dollar per hour, per bulb.

I bought one before and it burned my headlight connector. Which was pretty weird.
