HID projector headlight problem!! Help!!!

Hey Guys,

I bought the below projector from ebay, and I saw the low and high beam are H1 bulb. So I ordered the HID H1 also, but then the HID doesn't fit the hole of the headlight, but the regular H1 bulb fit just fine. I noticed that the headlight had a small sticker saying HID bulb it's not allowed, I wonder why. Any of you guys have experienced with this. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I also have dual halo projectors, so I was wondering about this also. I believe that to get HID's, A different projector needs to be retrofitted into this headlight housing. The problem is I don't know if that's possible. I would hope so but I'm not sure...

Ok, first of all that projector is designed for a halogen bulb, even if you manage to get the Hid bulb through the hole you will get very poor output. Second the Hid capsule is longer and fatter than the little one that makes up normal h1 bulb so it'd probably end hitting the cut shield anyway.

People are using H1 HID kits on the TYC projectors just fine. They also had problems with the bulb not fitting through the the hole so they just made the opening bigger with a file or dremel.

Wow!! to retrofit the headlight seems like a lot of work. Can I just use dremel to make the fitting hole bigger and fit the HID? What the effect from that?

If I decided to do the retrofit, what is the thing that I need to buy? Is there any retrofit topic in DIY?

Thanks

retrofit is very easy specially if u retrofitting valeo projectors....they are very easy......hard part would opening your headlight.....then that....all your hve to do is the drill a hole bit bigger on your valeo lens holder and thats all...

I think I know what I am gonna do to my headlight now. If everything turns out great I will post some pics of my HID. I never try the halogen H1, are they bright enough for normal night driving?

I meant retrofit. I wonder if you guys ever just use hand file to make the fitting hole bigger and fit the H1 HID into it.
