Rep Power: 236 Getting Ready to Retro some TSX HID Projectors.
Hi everyone,
I'm getting ready to retro a pair of TSX Projectors in some 04-05 headlight assemblys. I'm thinking of using the Audi A4 Bezels. I found a place that can make a custom piece to fit the bezel and cap the lowbeam section of the headlight assembly to hide the TSX projector. This custom part will be painted black to match the rest of the headlight assembly.
So far this is what I have:
Depot blacked-out headlamps
TSX Projectors
Hella Gen3 Ballasts w/ covers
Phillips D2S bulbs 85122
Audi A4 Bezels
I Still need to buy a wire harness to hook up the ballasts and some misc hardware to adjust the projectors.
I'm hoping the TSX Projecters can fit. There is little space behind the driver side headlight assembly because of the windshield washer fluid tank, but it looks possible.
Let me know what you all think about the A4 Bezels. Sorry the bezels are a little dirty in the pic. My goal is to make the HID's look factory and have them aimed properly.

Sure no problem!
Here are some progress pics and what I have done so far.
-Set headlight assemblys in oven for 5-10 min each at 250F to open them up.
-Removed the boot.
-Removed screw holding the low beam shield. The screw is located behind the reflector pictured in the second pic. Once screw is removed just lift up and the shield will come off. Shield was made of metal.
-Used a 2 3/4 inch drill bit to drill out center of the reflector. 3 inch bit was a little too big to fit the outer section of the headlight assembly. The 2 3/4 was a little smaller but not much. It was pretty easy to have the hole centered.
-Set the projector in to see how well it fits in the headlight assembly.
The projector sits in pretty good. In the last pic the back end sticks out 1 1/2 inches. The space behind the driver side headlight assembly is almost 1 3/4 inches before hitting the windshield washer fluid tank.
The Audi A4 bezels will not clear the front lens of the headlight assembly. The bezels might fit if the projector was set back in another 1-2 inches but then that means I would have to relocate windshield washer fluid tank.
I don't want to relocate the tank. So for plan B instead of using A4 Bezels I,m just going to have a custom part made to hide the TSX projector. I'm going to check HID Planet and some TSX and S2000 pics to get some ideas.

Hey, instead of having to relocate the windshield washer tank try cutting the top off of the neck off and then caping it like that...

Rep Power: 236 Thanks Infinite12, Jay78 and R1Style!
That's a good idea R1Style. I was thinking of that to but the cap would be hard to reach. You got me thinking again. Maybe I can heat the upper spout of the tank and reform it for more clearance with a heat gun.
Well guys I have to go out of town to work now. I'll be back Monday. I'll keep posting pics when I return.

Rep Power: 296 wow looks really clean. Cleaner then mine. Just make sure your rotational adjustment is correct as possible before you finalize it. Thats the hardest to adjust for.

Rep Power: 0 hey i'm doing the same retro!! tsx projectors with a4 bezels...
It looks like i drilled my holes a little too big... good thing they're only spare headlights. But I won't be able to get started on my actual headlights til next month.
I cant wait to see how urs turn out. mind showing where u drilled your mounting holes and how you mounted the projectors?
sorry i just read this... which part off the lens gets in the way of the projector? would it have enough clearance if you moved the projector up or down a little bit more? I better not purchase the bezels then if you're sure they don't fit... have you thought about using the e46 single shrouds?
