White light, CLEAR bulbs

Hey, im new to the board and I'm thinking of clearing out my lights and changing my stock lights to something whiter. I was thinking of getting the Mtec whites for my 2005 civic but It seems like the bulb has that blue tint to it and I don't like how the blue reflects onto the reflector during the day. Can anyone suggest any bulbs that are just as good as mtecs but clear insted of blue?

thanks in advance!

um there is no clear bulb that can produce a color as white as mtec. The best clear bulbs are philips vision plus and osram silverstar (not sylvania). I have the philips and they are very bright, but you won't get the white look you want. Throw on an upgraded harness and it will make them whiter than stock, but not by much.

hmm, I'll just suck it up and stick with the mtecs then.

BTW, is there any particular paint that I should be using to paint the amber reflectors with? Maybe like a chrome paint or would regular silver spray paint work fine?

I read on this board that you have to paint it and put it back on or there will be a big hole in there. Is that not true? and without it wouldn't the turn signal lights flash into the actual headlight area. Sorry if im really newb at this, i've never opened up a civic headlight and looked at it.

yeah i would prime it and just paint it with some high temp paint. I would just leave it though. The amber is barely noticeable when you compare it to the 01-03. You can't even see the amber piece from my old pics of my car. I don't think its worth the effort just to paint the amber piece unless your blacking out your headlights too.

So you're saying that I shouldn't clear my lights? just leave them alone?

for me i dont think its really worth the effort just to paint one piece. If you plan on blacking out your headlights then i would just do both at the same time.

hey anyone here change out the amber bulb on the turn signals to something whiter? i jus upgraded to high and low beam silverstars and i wanted to whiten out the amber turn signal bulb to finish it off. i think the bulb is 1157 and i saw that sylvania made a silverstar bulb in 1157. anyone tried it and does it match up with the silverstar headlights? any suggestions on good, bright white turn signal bulbs. do they look good?

soo uhh, since we're on the subject of doing my lights I was wondering if its possible to wire factory fog lights(I don't have them yet) to my regular headlights so the fogs come on with the headlights. Also, are there any fog bulbs that can match the color and brightness of the mtecs? If not, can anyone suggest some that come close to it?

just leave the switch pushed in and they will come on with the headlights. oem only works when headlights are on unless you modify the switch.
