I've never seen a 4100K bulb that is "white" though.....Not even the 4100K silverstar...That is still pretty much yellow (I would say a whiter yellow)...Anyway, in a distance I don't see reflected "yellow" light. I am away from home and no computer here can take my CF so I can't send any picture...

As a side note......
The "white balance" significantly change the light temperature spectrum. There are several scales that does it. You may have a 4100K light with 3200K white balance, the light is yellow; or 5500K balance to have a white light, or even 7500K balance to see blue from 4100K. Look at your monitor (if it has that function) you know what I am talking about....

Just back home from Houston and first time driving on highway at night.....

It looks like my new retrofit has some glare problem...

First, I realize that the car in front of my left/right side cases a shadow on the side freeway signs....

Second, when I pass under freeway signs (those high overhead signs), I completely illuminated those.....

Is there something wrong in here?

Here's the beam pattern and the looking at the beam......I am thinking it's the chrome reflector at the bottom that casts the glare.....Any idea?

the wall shot looks good. and yes you are right. that was the same reason the chrome tyc stayed in production longer. they had to solve the glare problem from the chrome housing. they brushed it to fix the halogen problem but yours is making it happen again. you should think or a way to fix it, maybe by painting it chrome (silver) which will be less reflective.

I would go ahead and do the blackout at the bottom.....Just want to find a way that it can be blacked out without having to remove the assembly again....It's going to be a headache to remove it....I just want to have the glare gone....May be I should try inserting a tube in there from the parking light opening and squeeze paint to the bottom?

Man, I don't really know if that's really glare or anything....I don't light up the car in front of and diagonal to my car, not even the license plate (except the reflective surface on a cop car, of course)...It's just the signs are bright....I have no idea, very confused...

well when you look at the lights above the cutoff, do you see any glare? you should hardly see anything shining at you

I don't see too many things above the cutoff....Just some roadside reflective markers and orange signs that are bright....But I can see those signs and markers 1/2 miles before I reach them....The cut off (VOR) on a leveled ground is about 5.5 cars and the higher side is about 6.5 cars....Then I don't see many things on the ground up except signs and some "blue reflected" road reflectors (don't know what's that called) which are not very bright either.....

hmm okay on mine I can sometimes see the blue cutoff reflecting off signs. i know mine are aimed low too. but there needs to be some glare or you won't be able to see any signs (above the cutoff).

So you think I should be fine with it? I drove for 3 hours yesterday and never got a single flash, nor any cars that doesn't like to be straight in front of and diagonally in front of me?? By that I mean ppl can still stay diagonally or straight in front of me for several minutes without doing anything weird....

Basically none....Above cutoff there's almost completely dark from side to side.....It's just when I see the road signs it scares me....I don't know if my pic shows anything, but that's the pattern I took at about 30 feet on the driveway from the wall with car front higher at an angle....

So is it just some signs that are "super reflective" compared to others? Cuz I don't see all signs that are illuminated, but some are super bright....Same sign level on a leveled road, of course...

What will happen if I swap the X1010 bulb (5400K Discharge High-Color) into the projector? Just whiter?

Hmm... X1010 huh?...

It will be the same concept: higher temp lower lumens. The only difference is that the X1010 uses D1S bulbs.

I don't think D1S and D2S bulb has any difference (with respect to fitment?) The D-HC bulb are rated at 2600lm so I think it is still a lot better than stock helogen isn't it? Just wonder if cop will stop me if I am having the 5400K in there...Sylvania claims that 5400K is the highest color that's legal??
