wow i'm not that great at this kind of thing. the dealer just installed mine. But do you just need 12v constant power? Just hook it to the battery then. Make sure your kit actually has fuses present in the circuit. Who knows, they might not include them.

well i have my power from the 12v socket so the switch only works when the ignition is on. But the wire is only used to turn on a relay so the wires don't burn up. The socket wires are tiny.
