idea for a sidemarker.

some of us dont like the idea of installing sidemarkers because of the cutting we have to do on the fender(too much work or we dont trust ourselves). but what about this, a thin piece of clear plastic with leds embedded into it and all it has is a wire comming out the back, this way the only thing that has to be done is drilling a hole. the rest of the side marker is sticked on by using the same grade adhesive as the emblems...

basically instead of having partly recesded sidemarkers, it'll just be a bit thinner and not be recesed.

no dice, still have to drill a hole in the fender. if you are doing that much, why not finish the job off?

a member here already tried this with an electroluminescent strip except he didn't drill anything. he just used double sided tape and duct tape. the only problem with this is that it doesnt last long and will die if it gets touched by water.

drilling a hole is a lot easier then cutting a rectangular shape. plus even if you mess up the hole, the sidemarker will be covering the imperfection.

yeah but if water gets inside the coper connections, you will have many blown fuses. i dont think it would work. plus what if the adhesive does not last? then you would have a dangling piece of wire with light at the end.

not fond of the idea

eh.. drilling is drilling..
i think people just don't want to drill in the first place in case they ever want to take out the side markers...
and i think there are side markers where u can just drill a hole and stick the side markers on...

i just got another pair of fenders to install my side markers...
