i have sidemarkers that are always on when the lights come on
it sounds like they're wired into ur parking lights, tap into you actual blinker wires, should be under the dash by the fuse box on the driver side, i dont have sidemarkers but if i did thats where i would start
I just burnt my tongue

if u do that than it will only blink but it wont be on all the time...if u want it to be on all the time u have to splice a relay into the circuit and connect both the blinker, and parking light...

but isn't there only one power wire going into the turn signal?...and isn't it on with the parking lights since it's dual filament
(sorry, just trying to clarify for myself here too)

wow okay too much mis-information here. Sidemarkers are single filament, usually 194/168 bulbs. There are two wires coming from the sidemarker. Attach one to ground and one to the green signal wire of the front signal and they will only blink. Attach the power to the red parking light wire and they only stay on with lights. Attach one to power signal and the other to power parking light (no ground) and the sidemarker will blink AND stay on with parking light. It will flash normally with lights off, and alternately with front signal when lights on.

this is odd.. i got the ground wire hooked up to the parking light wire and my sidemarker wont even turn on.
yes, the power wire on the sidemarker is hooked up to the blinker wire
Edit:
haha, i hooked up the ground wire from the sidemarker to the red/yellow wire connected to the turn signal. wow, i feel like an idiot

well it should work. I've tried it. Um you want the parking light wire on the same bulb, ie the turn bulb. So both wires should be connected to one bulb, the corner blinker/signal bulb (has three wires, you want one to red, one to green).

well maybe, but the wire should still be live. I think you have bad taps. Its a very simple wiring procedure and hard to mess up. Get new wire taps.
