Question question about projectors and regular bulbs

So, Ive done some reading and have came up with the conclusion that if I get projectors and use the bulbs I have in my car now MTEC H4 2X hyper whites they will not be as bright as they are now with the stock housings correct? Someone correct me if Im wrong. The best result is to get HIDs and retrofit them into some projectors, right?

Another question, I noticed that projectors have what looks like low beams and high beams separated? How does that work since I have an 01 with the hi and low beams contained in one bulb? Thanks!

if you purchase projector headlights, they will more than likely use H3 or H1 bulbs, not H4. different bulbs for different applications...

retrofit is the best way to get more light on the road, but it also costs the most. for the average joe, i would suggest keeping their stock headlights and purchasing the following:

Philips 85122 (4100-4300k) D2R bulbs
Hella Gen3 ballasts
Caspers Electronics H4 adapter shield
Wiring harness

That should cost the same as, or maybe a little more than a kit that will break in very little time.
