Got Audi HID Igniters and Bulbs as a gift
Got Audi HID Igniters and Bulbs as a gift
So, a friend of mine had his original but cracked lens headlights left over from his Audi A6. He had both replaced from an accident and the new Headlamp assys came with bulbs and Igniters. So, he gave me his old Igniters and bulbs. Are they anygood to me? I'm not real real familar with how HID works.

if he has HID then he has d2s bulbs and a HID ballast/ignitor. if it's not d2s/r, then it's not HID.
if what you got was h7, then you got halogen bulbs.

OH, Ok, I guess they are D2s then. HA. I know so little about this ****. I understand the basics, but I always thought that HID bulbs came in the same sizes as Hals do. So, what how are HID bulbs sized?
I have an 04 Ex and my bulbs are 9006/HB4. Also, if I did some kind of shield like you say, wouldn't I still have to worry about a shield for the front too?
Thanks for the help.

9006 is a completely different base than the h4 that i have, so i would suggest adapting a caspers shield/turkey baster. www.hidplanet.com/forums is a great starting place.
HID bulbs come in the following sizes: D2S and D2R. anything else is probably rebased junk.
