Arrow PIAA's or SIlverstars

i'm in the market of buying new bulbs for my car

but i'm tired of purchasing the NOkay's they burn out really fast...

i'm interested in buying hyper white bulbs but i want to know which are the best out there..i don't want to go HID

just a regular bulb...

i'm interested in buying Sylvania silver stars

or

PIAA's

but which of them is the brightest and last the longest..

or is there a better bulb than any of the two i mentioned

i also found this site that offer a one year replacement warrenty on their bulbs...
http://www.supremepower.com/category/spr/spplight.html

what do you guys think?

thanks,

hm. i also am making this choice to replace the bulbs in the tyc projectors. from what i read in the lightning, the silverstars don't match the PIAA's almost-hid look, but they last longer then PIAA. but piaas still last quite a bit longer then, lets say... apc.

i think i'm going with PIAA's, only because i know someone that has them in their lights and they have lasted for quite a while and still look really nice at night.

what if you get the 1 year warranty with the piaa's? does that protect against burn outs?

i would assume thats is what the warranty is for. burn outs and probably, just not functioning out of box. can't think of anything else a warranty on a light bulb would be there for.

thanks,
no matter which bulb you chose it will not affect the light output

I used to use silverstars before switching to HID's but they burn out fast (replacing em twice a year)

if your looking for long lasting, Honda OEM bulbs seem to last forever

Stock will be the brightest because there's no coating like those other bulbs. Piaa is overpriced and only lasts a month.

I had some PIAA GT PLasma... blue-ish purple tint. For $75 and "guaranteed lifetime warranty" from the store. About 4 months later, one bulb has problems, would work at times, and then wouldn't for several days. Went back to the store to find they were closed... Needless to say, I went back to stock bulbs, even though I really like the light/brightness.

both silverstars and piaa suck. its not worth spending 75 on apair on the PIAA and almost 30 bux a pair for silverstars, when you can get GE OEM replacements called White Light for less than 10 bux. The GE in my opinion was white and brighter than OEM, and lasted me for over a year before my HIDs.

i have been using PIAA lighting since 1995 and have never had a problem with them.
jyoung - as for putting them in your tyc's, i wouldn't reccommend it. the light coming out of the tyc projector will look almost identical using a stock bulb or colored.

hm so, should i use the oem bulb over the h1 that comes with the projectors?

is vividlights the place people find those amber turn signal bulbs? those looks pretty nice, not sure if they'd do well in the projector.

I've used both PIAA and SS. The Ps were expensive but put out a nice white beam. Nice output but they only lasted a 18 months before one of them burned out. The other one had some weird funky stuff coating the filament.

Out those go and in go the SS for about 1/3 the price. Their output is very good and I doubt if anyone could tell if there is a difference between them and the Ps, if there is one at all. More importantly, they have already outlasted the Ps.

If you need name recognition then go with PIAA but I'm sure that you won't be seeing any better with them at night than with Sylvannia. PIAA is nice for fogs/driving lights but their bulbs are not, IMO, worth the high price.
