Advice on lighting

hey guys
well my buddy gave me this neon stuff for my interior. im in the midst of adding some interior neons under the steering colum and under the seats. Give it some life cuz right now its too plain inside.

Anyways, i got some neons which will be in soon, but my friend gave me some of this neon wire stuff.

What it does is, when powered, its a wire of blue light. it looks pretty tight actually. he gave me a few feet of it, and i dunno where to put it that wont look tacky. any ideas on where to put it that will look good? And please, if im gonna hear the whole "thats rice thing" kindly leave your opinions out.

Anyways, I havent seen this stuff in any cars and if i do it right, i think it'll look nice. Any suggestions on where to put it besides trunk? My car aint a show car so if it goes in the trunk it'll be wasted, id much rather enjoy it in the car, question is, where?!

Thanks in advance!

I have it behind my gauge cluster as backlight But Derek had his on the dash...even tho it may distract you. You could also put it around your gauge cluster so it glows through the plastic. You would have to take off the bezel and tape it on the edges of the clear plastic cover.

Yeah i already thought of that idea. Id like to put it somewhere else though, and with so much of it, in the dash id be wasting a whole lot of it.

One person told me maybe around the edges of the floor mats, but i dunno if that would look good. Besides, then i cant take them out for winter without disconnected the whole thing which would suck. maybe along the edges of the floor so you can see it with the mats in. hm i dunno

Theres quite a bit of this neon stuff i have so it would probably get around both front mats, maybe even the rear ones.

Any other ideas? (gearbox or anyone else!)

I think that would look ricey if it's not hidden. Just having the wire exposed would look stupid imo. Impulse, I tried to wrap it around, but it was too bright and made the numbers wash out. I do have some wire only on the bottom so it shines through and lights up the rings around the gauges. It's faint, but looks really cool in pure dark. When you put the bezel back on, you don't see the actual wire, just some glow coming to the cluster.

What about just inside the opening where the window rolls down into. Could position it near the top so it glows across the window and reflects...although this might be illegal if it's too bright.

More ideas...

Put some in the vents, or behind the speaker grills so the light shines through the holes. Or at the top of the windshield between the hoodliner so just the light is visible.

Advance auto parts for $25 every 15 feet with inverter. Just connect some wires and that's it.
