I've got silverstars and some website said that they are pretty much the brightest b4 jumping onto hid. at 4000k which is nice, esp for $40 a pair.

the website http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/...s_faq.htm#when also went on to saying PIAA's are not worth it compared to ST's because of higher heat and wattage for same perfomance at higher price.

thoughts?

Are you talking about brightness or whiteness? They're two different things. Bulbs can look whiter like HID because of coating on the bulb, but they will be dimmer than stock. So in comparison, the only thing brighter than stock would be a clear bulb with more wattage. Look into xtravision by sylvania or other brnads that actually offer more brightness. Oh yeah and you can see better at night with bulbs that have the stock yellowish tint.
