Question about aftermarket headlights.

Hey, im new to the forums, i have silver 2002 civic LX. Im looking to add a different look to my car and would like to get new headlights. After reading some of the posts on here i noticed that aftermarkets dont seem to be a bright and project as well as stock headlights. My question is do you guys know of any headlight sets that do project well or can i buy any set and buy a nice set of bulbs for it and not have to worry about poor/dim/short distance lighting. Thanks for takin the time to read and reply.

Hey check out MatrixRacing.com. They have some pretty bad *** replacement lamps! If you want bright broad lighting, go with HIDS. they run kind of expensive but they are well worth it and they look bad ***!

screw projectors, they are like flashlights. Just DIY your headlights, or buy ones from www.procarparts.com or www.robearracing.com

Ive never seen a projector that shined like a flashlight. They are pretty much the same as standard headlamps just a different style!

projectors (all of them) are dim as hell unless you retrofit them with HIDs. My advice black out your headlights, they look much cleaner. I have projectors and they are a pain in the @ss to drive with when its pitch black like around some woods.

Word, projectors are dim as hell. I had the TYC's I bought from the dealer, put them on, and took them back the next day, I couldnt see **** at night, I even had PIAA's in there and couldnt see, stock headlights you can see so much better. Projectors are just good for looks. also the aiming of them is a bitch.

I was thinking of getting the projectors mainly for the look. In addition i was gonna get the stock fog lamps and put brighter, Xenon type matching bulbs in them. Only reason i think that would work is about 2 years ago my ex girlfriend had blackouts over her headlights and then foglamps and with that combination i could see perfectly fine. If im incorrect please let me know because id rather save myself 200 some dollars or however much i end up spending on headlights if i get them. i appreciate the responses guys, youll probably be hearing alot more from me in terms of asking questions to learn about what im going to buy. The stuff im tryin to put into my car is more for looks right now, im not tryin to look fast just nice. Headlights, foglamps, tail lights, tinting, different grill, an exhaust tip, power M3 mirrors with the turn signal on them (possibly, still not sure) different pedals that the aftermarkets i have now and a new shifter.
