Depends on which beam battern you like better. I like the wide vertex output of the stock housing. Adding HID will keep the same pattern as halogen.
im soo pissed right now. Ive been waiting for these lights for 3 weeks and they are finally being delivered today. Well i see the DHL guy pull up to my apartment, so im like HELL YEAH, they are finally here.
Well, he sits there a moment, then all of a sudden he turns around and leaves and i try to run out there, but i cant get him.
I then check the status online and it says "Delivery Attempted".
THe MFer didnt even get out his damn truck!!

man i love these lights, they warm up kind of purplish, but once they are on, a nice bright *** white. I am soooo happy with them.
probably would have only taken me an hour to install, but i could not find a damn place to mount the freakin ballast near the driver side headlight.....tore my knuckles up with that shiat.
Overall, installation was a breeze. Well worth the money IMO.
WHen i first turned them up, i saw some smoke coming from both headlights near where you put in the bulb. I realized i forgot to put the rubber covers back on and they stopped smoking. Maybe that was the problem or maybe thats normal when you first turn them on. Impulse, any word on that issue?...They are fine now though.

Ahhh guys! I'm very confused. I just want HID lighting in my 03 civic. Easiest way. Yet I'm afraid of losing my high beam. What's the easiest way to go through this ordeal? Gearbox....which plan is more appealing....the HID-Online, $576 High/low beam or the Hid Depot 399 or so losing my high beam. I just want the easiest way to get HID. Please Help guys! Thanks a ton.

High beam for HID doesn't really exist. The bulbs are gas filled and aren't capable of switching to high beam like regular halogen. If you do get an HID kit capable of so called high beam, it has a solenoid that pops the bulb back in the housing to change the output distance. You will see a little bit of light further in front of you, and they will shine alot higher. I have it and switching to high beam gives alot less light output just to see a little further. I almost never use them.
Most High Beam HIDs do suck... however if you got OEM projectors from say a BMW etc... like I did, you can have Bi-Xenon. My highbeams are bright as $hit. Check out http://www.hidforum.com/forum/ to see what's involved in retrofitting real projectors into your headlights. Definetly not the easiest, but it is the best you can do. The price is ~500$ for the best you could buy. If you have H4 (same bulb for high beams and low beams) a Bi-Xenon method like I did would be your only solution, if you have like H1 (seperate reflector for High and Low beams) you could just add low beam HIDs and use the stock High beam halogens for your high beams. Even if you have H4, they may make aftermarket headlights you can rip apart to do that with. Just don't be another blindingly glaring ridden HID ricer, be responsible and at least use a shield or paint the bulb/housing, there is a reason they made those kits illegal.
Bi-Xenon sorta work like the aftermaket hi/low kits... there is a solenoid involved, but it doesn't move the bulb.
the OEM HID projectors have that sharp cut off because there is a shield half way in the middle that cuts off the lower part of the light... ironically, and i haven't thought through the logic for it... the light is inverted when it comes out... anyways the shield that blocks the lower half of the lens is pushed forward and "drops" letting light go through the entire projector lens, instead of blocking out the lower half like normal...

If anyone is considering this... do yourself a favor, and do NOT get the E46 BMW projectors, they're so much more work than the E55 or any other Bi-Xenon projector. They're easier and cheaper to come by, and that's why I picked them up, but it was alot more work than I had anticipated. If you really want High Beams that work well, it's a B1TCH... starting with seperate hi-low beam reflectors or even halogen projectors is better. Worst place to start from is H4 headlights... But I did it, and you can too. just takes a while. feel free to drop an Im or PM etc... for anyone considering it.

That's because the projectors invert the image, in the same way that your eyes do. If you know about vision, you'd know that you actually see everything upside down and that your brain inverts it for you in the image processing that it does.

bah, a lot of people have problems with the bi-xenons because the solenoid gets messed up, then you get to open up everything and see whats wrong =\ but, i guess if u have H4 and must have hi-beams then thats your only choice
TYCs are different cause there is a different bulb for hi-beam
TYCs are different cause there is a different bulb for hi-beam whats exactly is the shield so i know i have one on my kit?
i might answer my own question, but there is this piece of metal at the bottom of the bulb that wraps about half away around it, is that it?
