WHere to install interior NEON??? civics!!
Hey,
I am wondering where people have installed their neon in a civic?
What is the best way?
I want to go under the dash, to light up the floor wells, the thing is...the Civic seems to suck
for this and not enough room, or good surfaces to work with!
The passenger side has that weird shaped plastic covering under it...not flat...argh...
First I got a 15 inch tube.....that seems too big....
I then got some 6 inch ones.....so maybe more options here....
I would have like to have the tubes themselves hidden from view, and only see the light glow, but if they have to be visible , I can live with that, if it's nice clean, and in the same spot on each side. And so they are not in the way and gonna get hit by legs and feet!
These are just some redline/quest neon ultrabrights I picked up at Walmart...
So any thoughts?
Thanks!

i've heard of getting license plate neons and placing them under the front seats.
You can put a i think 4" or 6" tube in between the steering column and petal area i think. . .i'm nub but that's kinda what i want to do if i was to do neons on the inside. . .

under the seats. no doubt. and if you want more light showing, put mirrors behind the neons and angle them toward the footwells...I haven't tried it myself, but I heard it works.
some cool ideas and help!
thanks people!
I was thinking under the seat too.....
Since I already bought a 15 inch first, I might just put that under the seat, and get another one for the other seat, and still somehow jam the 6 inch ones under the dash somehow, or stick to the side of the center console or something??

How do you guys have your neons wired? I was trying to figure out a way to have them turn on automatically when i unlock my car...any ideas? Currently I just have a switch that i have to turn on and off but i think it would be slick to have it auto turn on...

mount it under the glovebox than under the panel where the driver seat is.
I am not a fan of them but if you want to do it thats what I think will be the best in terms of lighting affect

but where under the glove box? onto the weird, uneven shaped black ceiling?
Or deeper back there somewhere?
And on the driver side?
I have 6 inch tubes......so they are small, if that helps...

This is gonna come out so confusing and I can't think of the right word for it but...on the passenger side i put it on the left side next to the center piece and driver side on the right. That way the wiring went straight behind and couldnt be seen and because I have like the lightning looking ones so I guess it doesnt really bother me that bad to have them out in the open like that...but the common one i see is under the seats =)

okay you want to mount it back on the uneven shaped plastic interior matching pannel for the passenger side. You can actually slide it up there for hiding.
On driver side 2 options tape it up near the back or remove the pannel under the stearing wheel colum and hide it with there it will hang a little loose I bet but glow out. this way nothing is exposed but the good old light

you than if you wish run through the dash pannel down near the center consol or.. keep going to the left run it down past the garage door opener case on the right and along the pannel near the door bringing the light out near the back seat to make your trunk glow..
its kinda fun sneaking that stuff through rofl...
I watched the wiring for my stereo so i know where all the pannels lead

my neon setup
under the seats and dash are popular spots, just dont put them where you can see the tube or any wires....

Just save yourself the hassle and don't buy em. I tend to stay away from my interior looking like a ****ing radioactive experiment gone bad.

This is my next project. neons underdash or seat its weird how these topics come up when you strat to think about doing the project.
it's not rice.....
who decides what is rice or not anyway? I just don't get it...
Anyway, it just accent lighting....eveyrone has lights in their car, fancy new radios that light up at night, so what's wrong with adding a couple more?
I mean, without going overboard.
I think I finally figured out what I'm going to do now myself...one 6 inch ultrabright tube under each seat....it's very subtle....just a warm red glow on the floor of the car...can't even notice it outside the car....but looks cool...

Where did everyone tap the power to their neons? I plan on doing 4 total, 2 under the seats and 2 under the dash. But did people just tap all the neons to the cig lighter? Where else is a good power source? I dont want to have my neons be too dim. Thanks for the help.
