!@%!#@$!#@@#!$E!@$!@$!@

Ok, I decided I was going to switch out my h1 bulbs for a nice set of xenon-like bulbs. I find the size, put those biatches in.

Now...the passenger projector will barely light up...the driver side one is fine. However, now the highbeams go on with my projectors. Also, my indiglo gauges are hooked to my lowbeams and they barely even light up. Is it a bad ground? Bah, I cant drive like this tonight. I guess I'm gonna have to look at it in the morning in the daylight.

I don't understand how switching the bulbs could suddenly cause that. Either the bulbs suck, or they're high wattage and ruined your electrical system.

Have you tried putting the stock bulbs back in?

If they are true 100W bulbs, that is WAY too much! I hope you didn't use them for more than a few seconds. If you really want to run them, you need to upgrade your headlight wire harness. Also remember that higher wattage bulbs inherently burn out faster.

Here are some links for the wire harness. You can buy one, or just make your own.

ya, i suggest that you change them immediately, whether or not you believe that they will damage your harness, they will, the reason they have not to most people is cause they dont leave thier brights on that much, if you left them on all the time they would burn

Voiceofid is an unknown quantity at this point
sounds like fuse

when my fuses go, it leaves the low beams barely running, but turns on the high beams

now, the hid will flicker(BAD) with the highbeam on, when the fuse goes...

It was blown. Ok, so you say 100w is too much. Should I just return the light bulbs, or can i keep the 100w. If I keep them, chances are it'd blow again...

bah

Or get the upgraded wire harness as I said above. But I would just get stock 55/60W bulbs.

Yeah, im too lazy to get some new harnesses. But thanks for the links anyway. I guess I'll just go get some "less wattage" bulbs.

I went back to the place and the guy said to just put some 20 fuses in opposed to the 15's. It works well.

does anyone know if anything bad can happen with that, what i understand that will do, is allow for more power thus causing more problems, because the fuse blowing is supposed to be a saftey for too much power running. Do you notice a differnce in higher wattage bulbs? I know when i had the mtec 4x they wernt any different than the 2x
just my 2cents canadian

Higher wattage bulbs pull more power to make them brighter. In an attempt to do this, the tiny stock power wires will overheat and eventually melt. You didn't see any difference because the stock wires can't supply the necessary power to the bulbs.

I talked to guy who majored in Electronics through college and he said if I went 5 amps up in the fuse it wouldnt make a difference.
