Re: Suspension popping Issues

Thanks, would it be possible for you to post a couple pics just so I can compare?

I have a feeling that ezone's suggestion could be the problem-with the spring hats hitting the body. I don't see what else there is left that could cause this since I didn't have any noises before I changed suspension so I wouldn't think other components would suddenly show that they're bad. I didn't get outside yesterday (crazy hot) but maybe tonight I can get out there and have someone turn the wheel while I stick something between the top hat and the strut tower to see if it hits.

Re: Suspension popping Issues

Alright, so I took a look when I got home from work today and it seems like the drivers side strut stopped making noise after putting in the new mounts. However, the passenger side was making enough noise to make up for it. I found with the passenger side if I pulled on the spring hard, I could make it creak and move around a little bit. I tried the same thing on the drivers side and I couldn't budge it. Does this mean the spring isn't seated correctly in the upper perch?

Re: Suspension popping Issues

If the spring does not have a lot of tension though you could move it so idk. I got some pics I will post in a bit.

Re: Suspension popping Issues

Thanks for the pics-everything looks like mine :/ I had a friend tug on the spring while I was sitting in the car and it was the exact same noise I hear while I'm driving so I'm pretty sure it's the culprit. The spring doesn't spin, it actually pops laterally out of position, or outwards and inwards. After popping it a few times with the wheel straight, it will no longer be movable but if the wheels are turned it is easier to pop it and doesn't get "set" in its spot.

What I don't know--whether the spring is moving in the bottom perch, top perch, or if the perch is moving around on the bearing. I don't have time to look at it tonight but I should be able to spend a little bit of time on Friday if it doesn't rain constantly.
