New to Honda

Hello,
I just purchased a 1979 Honda Civic. I'm currently tracing a few wiring issues to determine if it's wiring or mechanical problems (fuel gauge and temp gauge).
It's not really the question though. I'm wondering where I find the info on what upgrades I can make to the wheels, spindles, etc to widen the base a bit to make it ride better and safer on turns. I usually deal with square body Chevy trucks. These little cars are quite literally foreign to me.
I'd add pictures but they are on my phone and it just went kaput as I was trying to download onto my computer. It's in fair condition for being 37 years old; some rust spots, dings, things like that but seats are great and dash has only two tiny cracks, less than an inch. My daughter and I are going to fix it up together for her 16th birthday (Nov).

Re: New to Honda

You just want it wide and not low?

You could just buy rims with a lessor offset/wider profile.

Re: New to Honda

Could it be done with spacers? I hear the bolt spacing is hard to find.
I'm also finding it difficult in my mind to lower it. I'm used to working on big redneck trucks that I don't need to lift to drop a transmission.
But I also need to make it easier to drive with leaning because of a narrow wheelbase. I've been hearing about spindle (or something) swaps to widen the wheelbase.
I've been spoiled with my chevy trucks. Swaps are easy with those.
