you might wanna check on honda-tech.com. i believe the 95 ex and si came with a disc brake option, if not you can also use the integera set up.

Heres a great DIY i stumbled on. Its for a 97 HB but the process shouldn't be too different.

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

Hey Guys After a month's worth of searching and prep work I just finished my swap last night. Guess what guys its on a DX (canadian). Works great. It responds quickly with minimal peddal effort grips like a gator. I'll post up pics when i get back from vacation.

Just wondering how people in general with the swap have found the Parking break performace. Basically i want to know if anyone has been able to lock the wheels with such small calipers? Oh i used acura El assembly, cables and break lines. Cheap NAPA blanks and cheap semi metal kevlar pads. Yes I am cheap, not only am i canadian i was born in portugal therefore i have cheap in my blood.

In summary I'm generally satisfied with the everyday driving although i wish i was able to lock them with the e break though. Price total $400cdn = $380

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

so if we go rear disk swap we cannot pull up the parking brake?!

also guys where is sez "Everything else is just in reverse order. If you need to install brake lines on the discs, do it beforehand, make sure you use crushwashers with the new lines to prevent leaks."

when would you have to install new brake lines?? like if u were going stainless steel??

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

yes you can pull up the parking brake, you just need to use ep3 cables

instalingl the new lines before putting it all together will make it easier, but you can do it when your done if you want

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

I have a question fellas...

I finished up my rear disc swap a few weeks ago. After finishing bedding the brakes and whatnot, Ive started getting on them hard. The brakes work well enough, but I must depress the brake pedal further than when I had rear drums. This causes some difficulty in heel-toe-ing/etc. The ABS has a much more pronounced feel as well.

After reading the last 11 pages, Ive come to the conclusion that I should swap the stock Master Cylinder for the EP3's. For ***** and grins I would like to swap the proportioning valve as well...

Am I correct in assuming that the EP3 does not have a true front/rear proportioning valve? Would the DC5's work as well? Or would my best bet be something custom?

TIA.

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

Upon further investigation, it appears that the base DC5, EP3, and EX 7th gen all share the same brake booster and master cylinder... Can this be confirmed by anyone?

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

Thats probably correct considering they more or less all share the same brakes. You might want to pressure test the lines and/or bleed them, it shouldnt make any difference, or very little difference in the pedal travel.

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

Im going to try bleeding them again... although, it was done rather meticulously after the swap. But I will look into it.

You are saying that the prop. valve should have very little difference in the travel of the brake pedal, correct?

Sometimes you just get cars that don't want to totally bleed. I've spent hours trying to get some bleed. Just keep at it

(this is assumeing you checked for any leaks)

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

please help does anyone know if these will fit didnt want to start a new thread this is the reply i got from a guy seling them

It is USDM GSR spindle and caliper with an EP3 caliper bracket and rotor (4x100). This gives you a larger rear rotor on EG and EK civics... If you are still interested let me know..
thanks

brake kit as in rotors and calipers w/reloc-brackets if needed? you're still gonna need the spindles and e-brake cables

Re: Drums--->Discs SPELLED OUT

I just did this using the rear disc setup from a UKDM 7th gen. Plug and play, nice and easy. Hardest part was laying on the ground in the junkyard pulling them off.
